Why do actresses insist on singing? What started out as rumor is now a May 20 release. Actress Sacrlett Johansson's musical homage to Tom Waits, Anywhere I Lay My Head, has apparently gotten Waits' seal of approval and will be released in stores late spring.

"I sent him some of the early, early recordings," Johansson told OK! magazine. "And he said, 'Go ahead.' I've heard he's very pleased."

The album will feature 10 covers of Waits' songs as well as one original song called "Song For Jo." The actress also apparently collaborated with David Bowie, Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner and Celebration. The album was reportedly produced by TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek.

While Johansson, whose film with Natalie Portman, The Other Boleyn Girl, will be released soon, says that she has no plans to tour with the album (thank god!), she says that she would not turn down the opportunity to sing at a festival concert with all of her collaborators. "It would be a missed opportunity not to," she told OK!
