With their frontman Scott Weiland in and out of rehab, the 90's band Stone Temple Pilots have had their share of ups and downs. However, now the band faces a different kind of obstacle — they are being sued by their own record label, Atlantic Records.
Billboard is reporting that the band is trying to end their partnership without upholding their end of the bargain. Frontman Weiland and drummer Eric Kretz have apparently threatened to stop performing unless the label makes significant changes however, the label insists they are contractually obligated to deliver more albums. The other members of the band, guitarist Dean DeLeo and bassist Robert DeLeo were not named in the lawsuit as Atlantic released them from their contracts because they voiced their desire to pursue separate careers.
In a statement, the band said they "never threatened anything more than remaining away from the studio until equitable terms could be arranged. The precipitous filing of this action is yet another example of the difficulties facing artists in the new music environment, as relationships between artists and their labels fall further and further apart."

Scott is a sex god!!
