A woman identified as Paula Goodspeed, a known stalker of American Idol judge Paula Abdul, was found dead in her car outside of Abdul's home last night. She apparently overdosed on drugs.  Goodspeed auditioned for Idol in 2006 and was rejected. She later blogged on her MySpace page that it was hard to deal with the "awful things" that were said about her at the audition, writing, "just because I made the mistake of trying out for a singing competition before I was ~even~ ready vocally, emotionally and physically."

Goodspeed's parents reported her missing and told police to check Abdul's home – as their daughter "had an unnatural obsession" with Abdul. Police sources indicated that Goodspeed was indeed Abdul's stalker and they had been called to the house "numerous times before" to deal with her. Neighbors reported seeing her car outside Abdul's home before, but had assumed she was a photographer.

Abdul has not yet released a statement about the incident.
