According to U.K.'s The Sun newspaper, stars Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell left their paychecks for Heath Ledger's daughter, Matilda, after completing Ledger's role in an upcoming film.
Since Matilda was left out of an old will and Ledger's estate was left up to his father, Kim's, control, the three Hollywood stars decided to donate their pay to the tot. "They didn't take the money – it goes to Heath's daughter," director Terry Gilliam told the Sun. "That's extraordinary! And wonderful.. and when you're part of that, you think, ' Ah, this is maybe why I went into the movies in the beginning. I thought it would be full of wonderful people.'
"And we've got a movie full of wonderful people who did extraordinary things to help."
Depp, Law and Farrell took over Ledger's role as Tim in The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.
