Alabama cattle-rancher James "J.T." Thomas Jr. earned the million-dollar win on the Survivor: Tocantis finale by unanimous vote from the jury. Why no one had ever written J.T.'s name down was one of the biggest mysteries of the show. The guy who was the strongest and most likeable player was never once on the chopping block – a strange move by fellow players.

After his win, host Jeff Probst asked J.T. if he was crying. "I can't help it," J.T. said. "I'm happy — it's probably the happiest I've ever been in my life, obviously."

On top of the million-dollar win, the 24-year-old won the fan-favorite vote and earned an extra $100,000.

When asked what he was going to do with the money, J.T. said he was going to try and make more money with it. He alluded to a partnership with his Survivor partner in crime and second runner-up, New Yorker Stephen Fishbach.

The 19th season of Survivor heads to Samoa, which will be back on CBS this fall.

I was wanting JT to win from day one. And I am so glad and proud for him. Although I don't even know him, I could feel his positive energy and kindness. He deserved to win and I am so Glad he did. God Bless him and his family.
