America's newest sweetheart, Taylor Swift, should be thanking Kanye West for wrecking her VMA acceptance speech and catapulting her career into another dimension. Swift appeared on The View this morning to tell the women what she felt during that awkward and most talked about moment when West bum-rushed her VMA win.
As of the airing of the show, Taylor said that West had yet to contact her to apologize to her personally. However, representatives from The View say West called Taylor immediately after her appearance on Tuesday's show.
Last night on the Jay Leno Show, a visibly shaken Kanye West offered the following apology: “It was rude, period. So many celebrities, they never take the time off. I’ve never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve.”
The press release read, "After the show he spoke personally to the country music superstar via telephone and has apologized to the 19-year-old singer. She has accepted Mr. West's apology. The contents of the phone call are to remain private."
