As predicted, The Dark Knight broke box office records over the weekend including Biggest Single Day ever ($67.85 million) and Biggest Opening Weekend ever ($155.340). Combined with overseas numbers, The Dark Knight grossed a whopping $198 million.

And in case you didn't see it and you're still wondering. The hype is true. Heath Ledger's portrayal as the Joker is fucking brilliant and indeed Oscar-worthy. In fact, during the movie you might find yourself stop rooting for the banal Batman and start cheering for the maniacal genius that is the Joker. He's the underdog because he doesn't have the expensive Batman suit Bruce Wayne wears — and he still manages to kick the crap out of him.

Will Ledger be nominated for an Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar for his performance as the Joker? Get your Heath Ledger Oscar odds in the Bodog Sporstbook now!
