So it's official. We are about to see a movie that will most likely break box office records and at the same time, be an incredible piece of filmmaking that will undoubtedly become part of pop culture history. At least, that's what the early reviews are saying.

With a staggering 94 percent approval rating on rottentomatoes.com, the consensus is, "Dark, complex and unforgettable, The Dark Knight succeeds not just as an entertaining comic book film, but as a richly thrilling crime saga."

The Denver Post raves, "Watching The Dark Knight is like gazing into a mirror on a waning moon night: chilling and mesmerizing."

The New York Times says, " Pitched at the divide between art and industry, poetry and entertainment, The Dark Knight goes darker and deeper than any Hollywood movie of its comic-book kind," while a critic from the site WaffleMovies.com calls it, "The Godfather of summer movies."
