We were going to ignore this story, but all you Googlers out there can't stop Googling "Tomato Recall," so here's your damn story: The FDA has issued warnings not to eat raw red tomatoes, raw red plum tomatoes, or raw red Roma tomatoes due to a salmonella outbreak. So far, 23 people became ill enough to be hospitalized for salmonella exposure symptoms.

The FDA also warns that people should also limit their intake of the following tomatoes even though not yet linked with the outbreak, these are cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, home grown tomatoes and tomatoes with vines attached. McDonalds has also stopped serving sliced tomatoes until the source is known. Bottom line: lay off the raw tomatoes.
