Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident outside his Isleworth home early this morning. According to the report published by the Orlando Sentinel, the accident happened as Woods was pulling his 2009 Cadillac SUV out of his driveway at about 2:25 a.m. when he backed into a fire hydrant and then somehow rammed into a neighbor's tree.
No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirms the report, adding that Woods was taken to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee. So far no one at the hospital has confirmed that Woods is being treated for anything, and there is no news on his current condition on his website (TigerWoods.com).
More recent media reports, however, are saying that Woods has been released from the hospital, and Woods' agent, Mark Steinberg, told CNBC that his client is doing "fine."
It is believed that Tiger was taking some time off before returning to tournament play. The next one up for the World's No. 1 ranked golfer is the Chevron World Challenge set to take place on Dec. 1-6 at Sherwood Country Club.

Somehow hit the neighbor's tree?? Sounds like some other factor was in play. Perhaps alcohol, drugs, rage, how do you back into a fire hydrant then hit a tree. There is a low chance he could have backed up, hit the fire hydrant it gushed water and sent him into a panic, he put it in gear, hit the gas and ran into a tree.
