A rainbow was seen over D.C. at Tim Russert's memorial service moments after "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" had been played. Russert's family and friends were leaving the memorial service when they saw the rainbow shining over Washington D.C.

A D.C. resident who photographed the rainbow called the event "surreal."

At the service, Tom Brokaw described Russert as "an unmade bed of a man, with an armful of newspapers and a cellphone to his ear."

Russert's son Luke took the podium and said, "His spirit lives on in everybody who loves their country, loves their family, loves their faith, and loves those Buffalo Bills." He finished: "I love you, dad.
