One thing that's for sure: you can't talk about Tom Cruise openly without getting a nasty letter from his lawyers.

Dr. Drew Pinsky, the famous Doctor on Celebrity Rehab and syndicated radio show, Loveline spoke to Playboy recently and referenced Tom Cruise in relation to mental illness.

Pinsky said, "A lot of people in the public eye who behave strangely have mental illness we can learn from, and much of it is based on childhood trauma, without a doubt. Take a guy like Tom Cruise. Why would somebody be drawn into a cultish kind of environment like Scientology? To me, that's a function of a very deep emptiness and suggests serious neglect in childhood – maybe some abuse, but mostly neglect."

Not surprisingly, Tom Cruise sicked his lawyers on the board-certified addiction medicine specialist and USC professor — and in retaliation — referenced Dr. Drew in relation to the Nazis.

Cruise's attorney Burt Fields told Page Six, "This unqualified television performer who is obviously just looking for notoriety is so grotesquely unprofessional as to pretend to diagnose Tom and others without ever meeting them. He seems to be spewing the absurdity that all Scientologists are mentally ill. The last time we heard garbage like this was from Joseph Goebbels."

Cruise has stated publicly that he was abused as a child and that his father was "a bully" and a "merchant of chaos." Growing up, Cruise attended 15 schools in 12 years and was also a victim of bullying.
