Tonya Harding is back in the spotlight — not for the usual celebrity boxing, or beating her husband with a hubcap — this time she's written book.
Harding has a lot of explaining to do if she wants to endear herself to the American public — namely when it comes to the Nancy Kerrigan smackdown that occurred 14 years ago. In her new book, The Tonya Tapes, Harding claims that she planned to go to the FBI when she found out her husband at the time, Jeff Gillooly, was involved in the beating, but that he and two other men then kidnapped her, held her at gunpoint, raped her and told her that they would kill her if she didn't help them lie.
Meredith Vieira then asked the obvious: Why did she wait so long to tell this story?
“Ashamed,” she told Vieira. “Scared.”
