TV Show Firing Leads to Mischa Barton Suicide Attempt?

The reason why Mischa Barton was placed on involuntary 5150 psychiatric hold recently has reportedly been revealed. Apparently the actress, who has been struggling personally and professionally lately, lost her job on the CW upcoming drama, The Beautiful Life.

E! News reports that Barton tried to take her life after being told the CW no longer needed her services.

"She tried to kill herself," a source close to Barton told the tabloid. The source also added that Mischa had been given her walking papers—and later rehired—from the television drama.

However, Barton's rep begs to differ.

"Absolutely false," Barton's rep told E! News. "Your source is far from knowledgeable, as nothing they've told you is true, inclusive of the suicide attempt."
