Can you believe that the former supermodel has been doing the talk show thing for five years? Shocking, I know. But as Tyra Banks writes in her blog "Fans of the Tyra Show" (and in her recent Twitter), she's closing the doors on "The Tyra Show" after this season and is instead going to focus on other TV and movie related projects.

"My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are," Banks says.

That's good news for her fans and great news in particular for girls and women everywhere, as she continues to push both the TV and movie industries to portray women in a more positive light. Her first step will be to create her very own movie studio, "Bankable Studios."

Perhaps even more interesting will be the launching of a more digitally explosive and expansive Tyra.com world. And yes, the always lovely and always fierce Ms. Tyra Banks will continue to host "America's Next Top Model."

Props to Oprah…

You know that Tyra has always admired Oprah for the work she's done on TV and on the big screen, so in her announcement she includes a note to the Queen of Talk:

"Before I go, I have to pay homage to the ultimate Queen of Talk, Oprah, who made a huge impact on my life by giving me my first shot in daytime TV. We all know she announced that her last year with her talk show will be in the 2010-2011 season. We will all miss her show so much. And to you Oprah: You have had, and continue to have, such an amazing impact on me. I salute you."

Fierce and love, Tyra. We salute YOU. ;)
