Wall-E, Wanted Top Box Office In Debuts

After months of hype, Pixar's Wall-E has finally arrived. (Pixar)

The results are in for the highest grossing movies at the box office this weekend and a number of debuts have taken the top honors.

After having been hyped up for what seems like years, Pixar's latest offering, Wall-E, raked in $62.5M. The computer animated story of a lovable robot will likely enjoy a lot more success in the coming summer weeks.

In second place was Angelina Jolie's Wanted. The assassin-themed, special effects-fest brought in $51.1M. James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman also star in the film filled with bending bullets, flying cars and general calamity.

Rounding out the top three was Steve Carrel and Anne Hathaway in the latest reincarnation of Get Smart. The film raised $20M in its second weekend in theatres.

Kung Fu Panda and The Incredible Hulk placed fourth and fifth respectively with $11.7M and $9.2M.
