Known for his famous sign-off "And that's the way it is," legendary CBS Evening News journalist Walter Cronkite has passed away at the age of 92.

From 1962 until 1981, Americans tuned into Cronkite each evening to get their fill of the top stories – with Cronkite tearfully covering the death of JFK, to excitedly exclaiming, "Whew, boy!" when we landed on the moon in 1969.

Cronkite was married for nearly sixty-five years to Betsy Maxwell Cronkite. They had three children and remained together until her death in 2005.

Cronkite was known as "the most trusted man in America." He had been suffering for years with cerebrovascular disease and he died at his home in New York City.
