For those of you gals out there who were looking good for under 20 bucks with Sarah Jessica Parker's clothing line, Bitten, well, it looks like her line along with many other celebrity clothing lines have become casualties of the economy. Parker, who rocked some "fashionable" (see: ugly) outfits in Sex and the City featured her new line on Oprah and was selling her stuff at Steve & Barry's Department Stores. However, when Steve & Barry's filed for bankruptcy, Parker's low-cost Bitten brand became homeless.
Jennifer Lopez, Lauren Conrad and Mandy Moore are among the other celebrities who have folded their lines due to the economy. However, their lines didn't have the success of Parker's, whose low-price angle really hit a chord with shoppers during these difficult times. The demise of Steve & Barry's left Bitten and some other celebrity clothing lines without a home and although there are rumors that Parker would like to partner with another retailer, no official plans to revive Bitten have been announced.
Sarah Jessica Parker received the Fashion Icon Award in 2004 from the Council of Fashion Designers of America. We're not sure why. When she's sporting shit like this, she should be arrested by the fashion police.
