In its first weekend in theatres, Hancock brought in $66M giving it a total of $107M in just five days.

Hancock, also starring Charlize Theron and Jason Bateman, features a disgruntled superhero trying to improve his reputation and make good with the community he seeks to protect.

In second place was last week's leader, Wall-E, with $33.4M.

Sneaking into the top three was James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie's Wanted as they, with Morgan Freeman, enjoyed a $20.6M gain.

Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway placed fourth at $11.1 M while Jack Black's Kung Fu Panda raked in $7.5M.

I will the first to tell you Hancock owned! Me and my friends laughed our assess off along with the rest of the audience. I truly enjoyed this move and could not have asked for a greater LOL experience! We did not expect the pleasant surprise that this concoction of a superhero movie did. We left the theater clapping and laughing. The extra clip interrupting the rolling credits was priceless! A+++!
