Will Smith in Deep Hitler Do-Do

The Jewish Defense League is up-in-arms after famed actor Will Smith had a little chat about Hitler to the Scottish publication "The Daily Record." The paper quoted Smith as saying:
"Even Hitler began life as a cute little baby, just like the rest of us. He didn't wake up each day going, 'Let me do the most evil thing I can today.' I think Hitler woke up in the morning and, using a twisted, backwards logic, set out to do what he thought was 'good."
After the Internet blew up with anti-Smithisms, Smith got angry, calling the "The Daily Record's" quote "an awful and disgusting lie," and that he is "incensed and infuriated to have to respond to such a ludicrous misinterpretation. Adolf Hitler was a vile, heinous vicious killer responsible for one of the greatest acts of evil committed on his planet."
Moreover, the Jewish Defense League has called for theaters to pull "I Am Legend" from the screen and is also calling for people to boycott it. Additionally the JDL is calling on Hollywood to shun any future projects involving Smith.
Our pals over at TMZ have tried to contact the reporter, Siobhan Synnot, responsible for the article, but have not heard back.
