The Best Actor and Actress categories are always the most exciting part of the Emmy Awards and after sweeping the Emmys last year, Tina Fey (4/7) once again has the best odds to win Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as the awkward Liz Lemon on 30 Rock.

Fey will be competing against Mary Louise Parker (2/1), who earned a nomination for her role as a drug dealing momma in the Showtime hit, Weeds. Christina Applegate (7/2) is also nominated for her role in the recently canceled Samantha Who? , though she has recently earned extensive press for undergoing a double mastectomy to treat breast cancer, as well as being named People magazine's most beautiful person for 2009. Applegate is also well-known for her hilarious portrayal of Kelly Bundy on Married With Children for ten years.

Other nominees include Julia Louis-Dreyfus (3/2), who spent eight years on Seinfeld and two on her current series, The New Adventures of Old Christine. Toni Collette (5/2) is also a strong contender for her work on Showtime's United States of Tara.

However, we always come back to Tina Fey, whose career seems to have the momentum of a freight train. Not only is she nominated for Best Actress but the show she created, 30 Rock is also getting the Best Comedy nom, her fellow castmembers are getting some love and Fey was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her genius portrayal as Alaskan Govenor Sarah Palin.
