Former seventies star and ex-heartthrob Willie Aames is hoping to have a better 2009, after 2008 handed him a divorce, bankruptcy and suicide attempt. Thus, the former actor held a garage sale selling off treasures including couches, animal heads and memorabilia.

Aames starred in Eight is Enough. He also portrayed the lovable Buddy in Charles in Charge. But like many Hollywood teen idols, Aames battled cocaine. And for Aames, when Hollywood stopped knocking, he became a Christian superhero, "Bibleman."

Aames moved to the Kansas City area in the early 1990's after rehabilitation. The garage sale was actually set up by a production company filming a TV documentary about the fallen star. And reportedly, Aames appeared to not have much part in the sale's planning. "I have no idea what the prices are," he was heard saying.

Kansas City's The Pitch writes on their blog, "At first, we wondered how much of this was just for the reality show cameras. Then I made the mistake of asking one of the crew if I could use the bathroom.

'Actually the house has already been foreclosed, and I think all the utilities have already been shut down,' he said. 'Sorry.'"
