Here is the post position order for the 2009 Preakness Stakes:

Post Position No. 1: Big Drama – Big Drama ran from the No. 6 sport during the Swale Stakes, where he earned a second place finish. Big Drama earned a first place win at Boyd Gaming's Delta Jackpot Stakes from post position no. 5.

Post Position No. 2: Mine That Bird – This longshot Kentucky Derby winner ran from the starting spot in the Derby run.

Post Position No. 3: Musket Man – Musket Man has a habit of drawing inside spots, but has done pretty well with his bad hand, earning a respectable 3rd place at the Kentucky Derby.

Post Position No. 4: Luv Guv – This horse has proven he is comfortable with inside positions.

Post Position No. 5: Friesan Fire – He came in first despite drawing the outside spot on the post positions in the Louisiana Derby.

Post Position No. 6: Terrain – Terrain also drew the no. 4 position at the Louisiana Derby and finished third. Perhaps he'll eat a few extra Cheerios on Preakness day and move up a couple spots?

Post Position No. 7: Papa Clem – The Arkansas Derby winner started from an inside post position and also drew the number seven position in the Derby, where he finished fourth.

Post Position No. 8: General Quarters – This horse did well with a No. 8 post position at the Blue Grass Stakes, taking the win. He also won the Sam F. Davis from post position 2, but failed to place at the Kentucky Derby from a middle position.

Post Position No. 9: Pioneerof the Nile – One of the Kentucky Derby favorites, Pioneerof the Nile came in  2nd place at the Kentucky Derby.

Post Position No. 10:  Flying Private – This horse drew the no. 20 post position at the Kentucky Derby, which wasn't a good pick for him as he came in last. Perhaps he'll fair better from the no. 10 position.

Post Position No. 11: Take The Points – Earned a respectable 4th place at the Santa Anita Derby despite drawing an outside positions.

Post Position No. 12: Tone It Down – An inside post position is probably better for this horse, so we'll see how he handles post no. 12 in the Preakness.

Post Position No. 13: Rachel Alexandra – The Kentucky Oaks' winner is the favorite to win. Now this filly eyes the Preakness.

So there you have it. Now that the post positions have been drawn, you should be able to make better wagers. Be sure to get all your 2009 Preakness odds in the Bodog Racebook now!
