Big Brown is the winner of the 134th Kentucky Derby held Saturday, May 3rd at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The grandstands at Churchill Downs were full of 50,000 spectators as the Win/Place/Show finishers crossed the line, completing first leg of the Triple Crown. The top three finishers for the 2008 Derby are:

  1. Big Brown
  2. Eight Belles
  3. Denis of Cork

The Derby featured a full lineup of 20 three-year-olds in the run for the roses and $2 million first prize. Filly Eight Belles was injured, no word as to her prognosis, though sadly it looks like her front legs were broken.
