It wasn't even close. At Aqueduct on Saturday, Haynesfield finished first in the $103,500 Discovery Handicap by 4 1/2 lengths over second place finisher Bad Action, with Gone Astray coming in third.

"He was very relaxed," jockey Ramon Dominguez said. "When it was time to pick it up, he was there for me. Once he's on his game, he can be in front, or when the pace is right, he can sit just off. He's very versatile."

Trained by Steve Asmussen, Haynesfield crossed the finish line first at 1:50.10, paying $9.90, $5.20 and $2.60. For his second place finish, Bad Action paid $7.30 and $2.80. And although Gone Astray was favored to win, his third place finish paid $2.10 to show.
