Fabulous Strike's Comeback

Saturday’s Vincent Moscarelli Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park was host to Fabulous Strike’s, a five-year old gelding, easy winning comeback.

Fabulous Strike hasn’t run since last September when he won the Vosburgh Grade I at Belmont Park. A lengthy infection in his lungs knocked him out of consideration for the Breeder’s Cup. Todd Beattie, Fabulous Strike’s trainer, works him patiently and slowly and it’s proved to be successful, as he is 10th in 15 starts.

"The race really fell apart," Beattie said. "It's hard to judge how good that was. I was looking for a soft spot to sharpen my pencil again. I'm very happy with the outcome. He sure looked like he did everything we wanted and Ramon [Dominguez] thought he had lots of horse left."

Fabulous Strike’s winning time was 1:09.56 on the six furlong fast track.

"Getting over this hurdle, we will put our heads together next week and try to come up with that," Beattie said.
