This Thursday on March 13th, Race 9 at Oaklawn Park was declared a no contest due to a malfunction with the starting gate not being removed from the track. The tractor that normally moved the gate seemed to be having issues.

Near the top stretch of the race jockey Calvin Borel noticed something was amiss and pulled up his horse while alerting his fellow riders. No jockeys or horses appear to be injured after the gate remained on the track directly in their path. All wagers on the race were voided with any Daily Doubles, Pick 3’s or 4’s involving the race having it set to All.

"We had a tractor malfunction, we told it to go, and it wouldn't go,” assistant general manager David Longinotti said, “We'll obviously completely check out the tractor tonight, and hopefully we won't have any more problems with it in the future."
