Two prominent tracks, Indiana Downs (Shelbyville, Ind.) and Hoosier Park (Anderson, Ind.) are thinking about huge expansions that could include everything from ESPN themed night clubs to spas and even a hotel.
In a meeting with the Indiana Horse Racing Commission on Thursday, officials of both parks discussed the eventual plan to create a racing complex.
"It's going to happen, but it's not going to happen overnight," commented Rick Moore, general manager of Hoosier Park.
After receiving approval from the Indiana General Assembly, both tracks are now also able to add slot machines to their arsenal. They will have a $30 Million Casino expansion, which should be completed by June.
"We want this to become a destination spot," Moore remarked.
