Each year, horse racing aficionados pound Mint Juleps in honor of the Kentucky Derby because there's nothing like watching your winning horse cross that finish line while sipping on a classic. Since 1938, the Mint Julep has been the traditional cocktail of the Kentucky Derby. Here's a classic recipe that's sure to get your head buzzing on Saturday's big Kentucky Derby day. If you're throwing a Kentucky Derby party, you'll be sure to be the talk of the town.

Mint Julep ingredients and instructions: Rub mint and place it in a glass. Add 2 Tsp of fine sugar, water and stir. Add 2 ounces of bourbon (we recommend Maker's Mark) and fill with crushed ice. Garnish your Mint Julep with a mint sprig and you're done!
