The 53rd running of the $350K Del Mar Oaks is set for the afternoon of August 22. A field of some of the best three-year-old fillies will be tested along nine furlongs. Entrants should include Honeymoon Handicap winner Well Monied, and could potentially include Starlarks, Strawberry Tart, and Hameildaeme.

Well Monied not only won the Honeymoon Handicap but she turned in a good performance in the $700,000 Gr. 2 American Oaks, also at Hollywood Park, last month. She will confirm her status as a turf runner. The other late bloomer is Starlarks, who has a win in the come-from-behind battle against favorite Carlsbad on the Del Mar turf.

Strawberry Tart, who was barely caught at the wire in the San Clemente Handicap by Starlarks, will be looking to even the score in the Del Mar Oaks. She is 4-1-0 in seven starts and has already earned over $182K in stakes winnings.
