With the post positions drawn, the Preakness Stakes, the second and shortest leg of the Triple Crown, sees its 134th running on Saturday, May 16 at Pimlico Race Course. The Bodog Racebook has all your Preakness Stakes odds but before you wager on your favorite 3-year-old Thoroughbreds, be sure you read up on your Preakness Stakes contenders.
The shocking Kentucky Derby champ Mine That Bird will face the Preakness early favorite, Rachel Alexandra. The filly will run with Cavin Borel, Mine That Bird's winning jockey at the Kentucky Derby. Rachel Alexandra was recently purchased by Jess Jackson of Stonestreet Stables and trained by Steve Asmussen. Despite the fact that Rachel Alexandra has never raced against colts, many oddsmakers now have her as the Preakness favorite.
Jockey Mike Smith will be aboard Mine That Bird. Though Mine That Bird will be without his winning jockey Calvin Borel, he could still have what it takes to take on the Kentucky Oaks-winning filly.
Mine That Bird will start inside from post 2, while Rachel Alexandra will run from the outside in the No. 13 spot. Who will take home the second jewel of the Triple Crown? Will it be Mine That Bird or Rachel Alexandra? Or Friesan Fire, Musket Man or Papa Clem? Be sure to get Preakness odds in the Bodog Racebook now.
