Because we here at the Beat are rock stars and get invited to all of the coolest parties, we received an invite to head over to famed Vegas nightclub Tao last night for Bluff Magazine's 2008 WSOP launch party, hosted by Jenn Tilly, Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari.
After showing up and breezing by the peons waiting wrapped around the lobby of the Venetian hotel and passing through several "cool people" checkpoints to get upstairs, we made our way through the throbbing mess of beautiful people to Table 21, the site of the Bluff party. After a couple of anesthetizing drinks mixed table-side to combat the potential silicone/saline poisoning that we could suffer, we turned around to be greeted by the infamous girls in their tubs and that pretty much sealed the deal for us. That and the girl dancing up on the right above the main dance floor, if you were there you'd know who we were talking about. But you weren't, ha.
We hung out and talked to a bunch of media types for a while, just enjoying the very entertaining people watching. Tilly, Laak and Esfandiari looked like they were having a good time, especially as we saw "The Magician" up on the pedestal with the tub girls at one point. We would've given that a shot, fueled by our liquid courage, but we're unfortunately not WPT-Made Millionaires, so decided against it.
Anyway, we crawled back the Rio at some point earlier this morning, knowing full well that we had to get up and head down to the Amazon Room for the kick-off of the 2008 WSOP and the $10,000 Pot Limit Holdem World Championship. So, with advil and water bottle in hand, we'll make our way down to the Media Room and give it our best to bring you live updates from the 2008 WSOP.
We've heard rumors of another Bodog "social" scheduled for this year, and it's gonna be really good. But the only way to get a definite invite is to be part of Team Bodog, and the only way to get on your way to doing that is by going and checking out Bodog's online WSOP satellites and qualifying for your chance to win a $12,000 2008 WSOP VIP Prize Package.

Oh wow it sounds fun. Once the drinks kick in and looking at the girls in the tub and the dancing girls. It does seal the deal. Im hoocked on TAO. The place to be!
Tao was awesome that night! I am a huge poker fan and seeing Jennifer Tilly there was great! I never have a bad time at Tao and once again it did not disappoint!
