While the Amazon Room will be playing host to a slew of well-known players in the $50,000 HORSE event scheduled to take place today, there will be another event taking place later in the day that will also draw no small amount of attention. Day 2 of the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo 8-or-better event features some poker heavyweights, including poker pro Barry Greenstein.
However, not all of the attention will be for the obvious reason. You see, there is a prop bet riding on Greenstein's performance. At the beginning of the WSOP, Greenstein and Jeff Lisandro wagered with Daniel Negreanu and Erick Lindgren over which team could accumulate the most Player of the Year points. At this point, we don't think we need to point at that, with Lisandro's three bracelets already this year, Greenstein and Lisandro are way out in front and would put another nail in the coffin of Negreanu and Lindgren if Greenstein were to take down a bracelet for himself.
It won't be an easy road for Greensteing though as his field includes notables Phil Hellmuth, Lee Watkinson, Noah Boeken, Brandon Cantu, Lee Markholt, Aaron Kanter, Perry Friedman and Padraig Parkinson. We'll keep you posted as to the progress of this event and the progress of this 2009 WSOP prop bet.
