Last night, Bodog Poker hosted the last preliminary event of the inaugural Bodog Poker Open. BPO Event #5 – $160 buy-in Fixed Limit Hold'em – drew a field of 174 players with the top 18 finishers earning their share of the $36,100 prize pool, including the $10,000 that Bodog kicked into the pot.

The final table had many familiar names including the Bodog Poker Open Event #1 champ, "rusostreet." When it came down to heads-up play though, it was "bigcatfish" and "HB_HITMAN" that were left standing. After a fierce battle, "bigcatfish" came out on top to win the $10,830.00 cash prize for first, along with a seat in the Bodog Poker Main Event to be held on Sunday, March 9th at 4 PM ET.

The format of the Main Event is straight-up knock down drag out No Limit Holdem with a buy-in of $470 + $30, and Bodog will be adding an extra $25,000 to the prize pool. The winner of the event will become the inaugural Bodog Poker Open champion and will walk away with the title, the cash prize and an engraved Omega Speed Master watch, valued at $4,400.

Satellites for the Main Event are already running in the Bodog Poker room, so make sure to head over to the Bodog poker tournament schedule and check out when the next one's going on. They are running at least every hour through the Main Event tomorrow and the buy-ins for these satellites range from as low as $25 + $2.5 to as high as $100 + $9.
