The $2,000 buy-in No Limit Holdem WSOP Event 23 saw a field of 1,344 with a prize pool of $2,446,080. Twetny-two-year-old poker pro Blair Hinkle finished off the final table last night and secured his first WSOP bracelet, but the second for the family this year.
Only twelve days ago Blair’s brother Grant Hinkle took down WSOP $1,500 No Limit Holdem Event 2. Grant’s field was a massive 3,929 and first place earned him $8,31,462.
Grant’s win earned him $507,563. Grant started the final table with the second most chips and went on to eliminate six of the eight other finalists himself. By the time he got down to heads-up play against Mark Brockington Hinkle was on fire. They played eight hands together with Hinkle taking down the pot every time. The final hand saw a push from Brockington with big slick and a call from Hinkle with sixes. The flop hit Hinkle hard with 6-A-2. With an eight on the turn Brockington was drawing dead and the Hinkle family would now be sporting matching WSOP jewelry.
