As 2008 draws to a close, the Yearly Tournament Leader Board (TLB) race at Bodog Poker is still wide open. With a full month of tournaments remaining, online poker players still have plenty of opportunity to work their way up the standings to cash in on the prizes that Bodog has just announced for this competition.

The player who finishes as the 2008 Yearly TLB winner receives T$5,450, otherwise known as an entry into every $100,000 Guaranteed tournament in 2009. To break it down even further, that's a chance to win more than $1.2 million over the next year in the Bodog Poker room. The second-place finisher will receive T$3,000, third gets T$2,000 and 4th to 100th place receive an entry to the T$12,000 "Yearly TLB Freeroll" to be hosted on Sunday, January 25th 2009 at 3:30pm ET.

All in all Bodog is giving away $22,450 in prizes. Full details can be found on the Bodog Poker Tournament Leader Board information page.

As we head into December, here are the current top three players on the Yearly TLB:

1. alienface
2. whatever877
3. gotzballz

Team Bodog's own Smith "nevertilt22″ Collins topped both the 2006 and 2007 Yearly TLBs and is currently 24th overall on the 2008 TLB. With a full month of tournaments left to go before the competition wraps up, Collins and many other players on the TLB have a chance to climb their way up the standings as well as take home some of the nearly $4 million in guaranteed prize money that Bodog offers every month.

To top the Tournament Leader Board and win prizes, you need to earn points. Every time you play in a tournament, the number of players, the buy-in and your finish rank determine exactly how these points are distributed and where you'll end up on the board. Roughly who gets points? The top 20% of finishers per tournament.
