The Bodog Poker Open III kicked off last night with a hugely successful first round of events. More than 1,100 online poker players came out to take part in one of the four events that took place yesterday with 31 of them walking away with cash in their pockets while another 35 of them walked away with bounty rewards.

First up was the BPO3 Kickoff $20,000 Guaranteed event, which drew out 238 players all putting up their $100+$9 buy-ins to generate a prize pool of $23,800. Online poker player "Banshee420" emerged victorious from the fray of the first BPO3 event to claim the $6,545 first-place prize.

Next up was BPO3 Event #1, which featured a buy-in of $50 + $5 w/rebuys and $5,000 in added prize money. All said, the 204 entrants to the event built up a prizepool of $32,950 by rebuying an average of 2.2 times each. Add the $5,000 to that and they were battling it out for their share of a $37,950 pot. "Ender555" got the lion's share of that money by walking away with the $10,436.24 top prize.

BPO3 Event #2 saw 121 players put up $200+$15 to play a little 4-Max No Limit Holdem. Bodog added $5,000 to the purse of the event, giving the players a chance to win part of a $29,200 prizepool. Online poker player "ComfyCouch" made out like a bandit, taking home $8,760 for the win.

The last event of the night was also the largest event with 624 players ponying up their $10+$1 to buy into a BPO3 Bounty Tournament with a $10,000 guaranteed prizepool. In among that field were 35 bounty players, all with T$50 on their heads and each one of them went down to another player. Eventual winner "Inseyet" knocked out one of those bounty players – "StraighNutz" – on his way to capturing the $2,360 first-place prize.
