There's nothing like living the life of a Bodog Poker pro, jetsetting the world, touching down in one exotic locale after another and playing in the world biggest and richest poker tournaments. Take David Williams for example. He has just arrived in Cannes, France to play in the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event that has just kicked off in Le Palm Beach Casino.
With its guaranteed €3 million prize pool and €1 million guaranteed for first place, this event is one of the richest on the European poker circuit and has drawn in a large number of well-known players. Spotted in among the 259 entrants who ponied up their €8,500 to play in Day 1A were Antonio Esfandiari, Erick Seidel, Mike Matusow, Jennifer Tily, Noah Schwartz and Phil Laak.
Many more are expected to turn out today for Day 1B. In fact, according to DW's Twitter just a couple of hours ago:
Playing the Partouche Poker Tour 8k euro buyin main event. 500 players. Today is 1b. Started with 30k in chips
So, it looks like they won't need to overlay on the guarantee for the whole prize pool or the first-place prize. The winner will receive a pretty nice chunk of change. The latest from DW an hour ago was this:
After 2 levels and 1hr of a 3rd I'm at 21k. Ran a straight into a flush. Was as low as 11k but fighting back. They aren't making it too hard
