There's been a some movement up and down the leaderboard by several players during the first level and a half of play, with a couple dropping off altogether.
Starting with the eliminations, Mike Carroll was the first elimination of the day, earning $257,334 for his 27th place finish. He was then followed in short order by Phi Nguyen and Niklas Flisberg, who finished 26th and 25th, respectively and made $257,334 each. Then, just a few moments ago, Aaron Gordon went out in 24th for the same payout. The next prizepool jump is for 18th place up to $334,534.
Moving up the chip counts is Ylon Schwartz, who doubled-up through Paul Snead and now sits in second place, and Kelly Kim. On the way down is Tiffany Michelle (damn it, did we jinx her?), who has dropped ten spots since the beginning of play, and Brandon Cantu, who has also dropped from his lofty perch.
Dennis Phillips remains on top of the standings after picking up a couple of big pots and David "Chino" Rheem is also holding steady.
Keep it here as the day progress and we'll make sure you stay up to date with all the latest WSOP news.
