As we predicted yesterday, mainly because we are excellent prognosticators and also because the WPT page said that this was the plan, the field at the WPT Borgata Poker Open played down to the final 27 during its third day of play in what was a relatively short day for the players.

Once the chairs were pushed back from the table last night, poker tournament veteran Dan Heimiller led the way with 2.8 million in chips. The evil soul-less ginger (as some would have you believe) is followed not-so-closely by the two noted online poker pros we also predicted would do well yesterday, Vivek "psyduck" Rajkumar and Thayer "thayer" Rasmussen. What? Wait, you didn't see that in our post? It's right there, you just kinda have to squint, tilt your head a bit and read between the lines.

Anyway, after a good night's sleep due to the short day, those three players plus poker pros Michael Binger, Steve Dannenman, Ted Forrest and Nam Le will all return to the Borgata poker room today to play toward the WPT televised final table and the $1.4 million first-place prize. Heimiller does hold a 1 million chip lead over Rajkumar in second place and 1.5 million over Rasmussen in third, so these players further down the leaderboard have an even more ridiculous task ahead of them than the two online guys. But, this is poker, so anything can happen, and usually does.

Stay tuned for more updates from the WPT Borgata Poker Open from the Bodog Beat and don't forget to check out the online WPT satellites to win a $12,000 Player's Choice prize package to the upcoming WPT event of your choice. Hence the name. See, clever isn't it.
