Team Bodog has made yet another deep run at the 2008 WSOP. This time it was poker pro David Williams and Team Bodog member Magnus Petersson who cashed and it was in Event No. 50 - $10,000 Pot Limit Omaha World Championship.
The money bubble burst with 36 players remaining out of the original 381, a pretty large field for a $10k buy-in Omaha event, and the eliminations started in flurries with people pushing and either doubling-up or busting out. At the end of this string of eliminations, Williams and Petersson both found themselves with their chips in the middle trying to put themselves into sposition to make a run at the final table, however they would end up busting just two spots away from each other, Wiiliams in 26th place and Petersson in 24th.
For their finishes, Williams and Petersson earn $28,651 each. This total gives Williams an impressive $177,265 in cashes so far for the 2008 WSOP and this is the first WSOP cash for Petersson, who has only played in a couple of events.
We're sure this is not the last we have heard of either of them at the 2008 World Series of Poker, there's still two more events yet to begin. So, stay tuned to the Beat for your live WSOP updates and see how Team Bodog fares as we approach the mother of all poker tournaments, the WSOP Main Event.
