The story of the Golden Boy Erick Lindgren has come to an abrupt end tonight in Day 2A of the WSOP Main Event.
Lindgren got it all in pre-flop with jacks against his opponent’s kings. The board did nothing for him and his stack was crippled. Then in the very next hand he pushed pre-flop again, this time with A-J off-suit and the same player called him, this time with pocket sevens. With no connection on the board for Lindgren he hit the rails and was gone.
Lindgren’s third place finish in the $50,000 WSOP HORSE Championship had been the most recent deep run in what was his most successful WSOP to date. It was also the icing on Lindgren’s WSOP Player of the Year cake.
He also finally lost his moniker of being the "Best Poker Player Never to Win a WSOP Bracelet” this year when he won the $5,000 NL WSOP prelim event. He cashed in three other WSOP events this year.
Where is he now? Probably betting Daniel Negreanu that he can ride a tricycle up Mount Everest with a rabid chicken tied around his neck. He'll probably do it too.
