The Grovesnor Victoria Casino, better known as "The Vic," will play host to the European Poker Tour London event that begins tomorrow, Sept. 25. The £5,400 buy-in tournament looks to draw many of the same big name poker players that showed up for the WSOP Europe two weeks ago just down the road.
Poker pro Vicky Coren will be trying to defend her title and add to the £1,393,000 ($2.8 million) she won at last year's event after battling through the field of 398 that included several poker pros including fellow final tablist Chad Brown, Isabelle Mercier and Shannon Shorr.
The prizepool will be larger this year even if the same number of players show up as the buy-in has increased almost £2,000 from that of last year. However, the trend in the EPT has been toward larger fields, so the field should be larger creating an even larger prizepool. The tournament will culminate on Saturday, Sept. 29, when the final table will play out crowning the newest poker millionaire.
If you want a chance to become the next poker millionaire, Bodog is offering weekly chances to do just that by winning a Bodog "Player's Choice" package. Winners of a "Player's Choice" package will have the choice to enter a WPT or EPT event with a $10,000 or less buy-in and receive cool gear, bonus contracts and incentives to play while they kick back with first-rate service, hang out with poker legends and bask in TV celebrity. Some upcoming destinations included in the package are Barcelona, Monte Carlo, Baden (Austria), Dublin and Warsaw. Qualifiers start for as little as $1 to work your way up to the Player's Choice Semifinal tournaments where you will have the opportunity to play for one of these packages.
