The APPT Macau has reached the final stages of the tournament and Diwei Huang is currently holding the lead headed into the final table. After three flights of Day 1 and then a field of 208 players on Day 2, 39 players returned to the Grand Waldo Hotel and Casino for Day 3, and when the dust settled only the nine players who would make up the final table remained.
The tournament drew a good number of poker pros from their respective corners of the world, including Johnny Chan, Joe Hachem, John Juanda, Lee Nelson, Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier, Isabelle Mercier, Chad Brown and David Chiu. Unfortunately, as is always the bane of our poker tournament reporting existence, absolutely none of them remain.
Here are the nine who will return to play out for the $450,000 first-place prize:
Diwei Huang – 1,046,000
Edward Sabat – 1,001,000
Jeppe Drivsholm – 863,000
Tian Chen – 768,000
Charles Chua – 617,000
Mikael Rosen – 361,000
Kuok Wai Will Cheong – 334,000
Javed Abrahams – 215,000
So Myung Sim – 118,000
