So, the final table of the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic's WPT Doyle Brunson Classic Championship (BFDWPCWPTDBCC) is set and ready to go and we've got to say that we're a little underwhelmed (we'd be just 'whelmed,' but we're not in Europe) based on the sheer volume of big name pros that started this event. Not to take anything away from the guys that actually made it because getting through a field as laden with talent as this one was no easy feat, but we were all geeked up about some super-ridiculous final table of legendary proportions that would go down in the annals of poker as a battle of the ages. Thanks for ruining Christmas guys.
Anyway, while the name recognition is not necessarily huge at this final table the talent level is still impressive, with a couple of previous WPT champions and some rising online poker talent. The biggest name to find himself at the final table is UK poker pro David "Devilfish" Ulliott, who will be looking to add his second WPT title to his resume but will have an uphill struggle to do so as he is sitting just about 6.5 million chips behind the leader. Ryan Daut is the other WPT champion sitting at the table and will also have a hard time adding another title as he is about 8 million behind the leader, which is a lot…just in case it didn't seem that way.
That chip leader with the dominant chip stack is Eugene Katchalov, who has been playing in major poker tournaments since late 2004. His largest payday came over the summer when he won the $5k prelim event at the Bellagio Cup III, he also has a couple of WSOP cashes under his belt. Behind him is Jordan "OctavianC" Rich, whose biggest cash to date was a couple of months ago at the Aruba Poker Classic for $77,075 and who also has a couple of WSOP cashes.
Sitting in the middle of the field are Ted Kearly and Ken Rosen. Kearly has two major tournament cashes to his name including a cash at the WPT World Championship back in April. Rosen has none, or at least any that we could find.
These six will congregate this afternoon and two of them will leave millionaires. For many of them, much more name recognition in the poker world than what they started with.
