Grospellier Leads as Day 4 of 2009 WSOP Main Event Kicks Off

What started with 6,494 players just over a week ago has narrowed down to only 789 remaining players as we move into Day 4 of the 2009 WSOP Main Event. Leading the way is poker pro Bertrand "elKy" Grospellier with a monster chip stack of 1,380,500, almost 500,000 more than the 896,000 chip stack of Ludovic Lacay in second place.
Leading the way for Team Bodog going into the day is poker pro Justin Bonomo, who sits down with 517,500 in chips. Not far behind him is Bodog online poker player Alper "thunderfx" Sar, who surged late in the day last night to get all the way up to 311,000. The last intrepid wearer of the Black and Red left in the is Robert Mobley and his chip stack of 55,500.
With the money bubble bursting when the player is 649th place busts out of the event, we only need to lose 140 players from the field today, which means we should see the usual joyous money celebration at some point today.
Notable players still in the field include Blair Hinkle (542,000), Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul (523,000), Dennis Phillips (510,000), Phil Hellmuth (485,000), Theo Tran (483,000), Kara Scott (456,500), Mike Sexton (414,000), Nick Binger (394,000), David Benyamine (381,500), Phil Ivey (371,000), Joe Sebok (297,500) and Sorel Mizzi (297,000).
