Lost in among the hype surrounding the 2008 WSOP Final Table, the 2008 WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals was playing out and its final table featured poker players who didn't need a 117-day introduction, including eventual champion and previous WPT winner Johnathan Little.
When the smaller-than-hoped-for field of 412 had played down to the six players who would make up the WPT televised final table, there were several familiar faces sitting down to battle it out for the $1.1 million first-place prize. Among those players were the aforementioned Little, David "The Dragon" Pham, Jonathan Jaffe and Mike Matusow.
While the final table only took 105 hands to get down to the heads-up match between Jaffe and Little, it took another 170 hands to decide a champion. Both Little and Jaffe both have extensive heads-up experience; Jaffe finished fourth at the 2008 WSOP Heads-Up event over the summer and Little reached the quarterfinals of the 2008 NBC Heads-Up Championship. In the end, however, Little's experience at WPT final tables – this was his fourth and his second win (2007 Mirage Poker Showdown) – proved to be the difference and he walked away the newest WPT-Made Millionaire.
Here are the full final table results and payouts for the 2008 WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals:
1. Jonathan Little – $1,120,310
2. Jonathan Jaffe – $670,636
3. Charles Marchese – $337,256
4. David “The Dragon” Pham – $240,344
5. Jack Schanbacher – $182,196
6. Mike “The Mouth” Matusow – $124,048
