Team Bodog was out in full force for the Dream Team Poker Tournament at the Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas over the weekend. Bodog poker pro Justin Bonomo was a member of the winning team, Team Bluff, and Jean Robert Bellande finished third overall individually.
The debut tournament of Dream Team Poker consisted of 25 teams, each comprised of three players. The idea is to retain players interest in the tournament even if they bust out and to introduce a new strategy dynamic to the tables.
Each team member is scored relative to their elimination number compared ot the total number of entrants. That score is then combined with the remaining team members scores to generate a team score. Prizes are then awarded by finish to individual players and by score to each team.
Here are the full team and individual placings for this past tournament:
1st Place Team – Bluff Magazine (Eric Morris, Matthew Parvis and Justin Bonomo)
2nd Place Team – Super Tilt (Mark Thompson, Josh Chait and Travis Case)
3rd Place Team – Dirty Tacos (Hami Gabayan, Fred Nikgohar and David Simhaee)
1st Place Individual – Jason Lilley (Team Flop)
2nd Place Individual – Josh Chait (Super Tilt)
3rd Place Individual – Jean Robert Bellande (Team Survivor)
The event also drew its fair share of star power to rub elbows with the professional poker players in attendance, including 2006 WSOP Main Event champion Jamie Gold, poker babe Erica Schoenberg, WSOP bracelet winners David Daneshgar and Kenny Tran, actor Mekhi Phifer, Roger Cross from the Fox TV series 24, Holly Montag of MTV’s The Hills, former NBA star Chris Mills, Yancey Arias from NBC’s Knight Rider and Writer and Producer Sam Simon of The Simpsons.
