NASCAR driver Tony Stewart and Detroit's own Kid Rock showed up at the Michigan International Speedway this past week to play a little poker at the Motor City Hotel & Casino in Detroit for part of the LifeLock 400 media day.
Stewart played poker in the casino's poker room with members of the local media who cover the Michigan International Speedway races. Apparently, Stewart is a regular poker player, but was facing stiff competition from the free-rolling media and from his friend Kid Rock, who was in town for a different event and dropped into play a few hands with the group and his good friend Stewart.
“Some of these guys really mean business,” Stewart said jokingly. “I was having a tough time for a while. I finally ended up getting a few good hands at the end though.”
Along with the media a couple of fans got to play with Stewart and the K-i-d as part of a local radio station promotion. Mark Casteele, his girlfriend Debbie (who apparently is like Cher and has no last name), Michele Tallent and Chris Rutledge were given the opportunity to play poker with Stewart thanks to WIOT radio in Toledo, Ohio.
