Online Poker: Amateur Mistakes by Pro Poker Players

Everybody makes mistakes and online poker pros are no exception. Just ask Matt McCullough seen above on the right trying to make love to a cactus.(Bodog Beat Image)

Even the most seasoned poker pros make mistakes at the poker table. The most common mistake that pros will make is to get steamed up and play too many hands after suffering a few beats. Even the best of them will tilt a bit after they get sucked out on. It’s one of the toughest mistakes for any player to overcome, and many never manage to stop it.

Another rookie mistake that some pros will make is not to isolate an all-in short stack. Some will just call with other players to act after them, which can often lead to an opponent raising the original bet and forcing them out of the hand. A raise will often deter anyone else from playing, and they would just get the raise back after the others fold. If they don’t have a big hand they shouldn’t call the bet with other players to act.

Head over to Bodog's online poker room and see if you can't take advantage of other players making these classic mistakes.
